Windowboxes are ideal for culinary herbs. Many of them grow well in confined spaces and provide the good drainage essential to most herbs. Eaves also give some protection from the cold, and being against the house wall further moderates temperature extremes. Of course, it's also conveniently located to the kitchen as well!
