| Just out of the blue, we received 10-20 per day with this message because "the message was over quota". Well we're using less than 3% of available MB in our various folders, so that can't be the issue. Any idea how to fix this? Thank you.

| I installed the Google Talk App. after purchasing my Logitech QuickCam Pro. Shortly after began using video chat regularly until recently when my video icon stopped appearing next to my name in my chat window.
I am currently using Windows Vista (SP1/2 installed) with the Chrome browser. The GC task manager shows the talk plugin running, yet my chat window and gmail settings refuse to acknowledge this.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the plugin as well as the camera; neither resolved the issue.
Any suggestions/help are greatly appreciated!

| Help for "Contact Manager" is impenetrable for a new users

| Every reference to the Contact Manager in the so-called Help system keeps taking me to the same message, which assumes that I am already familiar with the Contact Manager. But as a new user, I have never seen it and don't even know where I would find it.
All I want to do is label one person as a contact, and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to do that.
FYI, I have been using email systems for over 15 years, and this one is B- at best (as in Bare Bones, with virtually all the documentation written by people who were too familiar with the system to be of any help to a new user).

| This seems pretty straight forward - export from Gmail then import to Google Apps. However, some of the content didn't make it, specifically the Notes that I had on my wife's contact card.
Anyone else had this problem and know of a solution? Hoping to not have to go through each and every contact to verify content. Thanks.

| Depending on which browser I use at the public library here, chat does or doesn't work. If I use Firefox 3.0.6 it says that" Chat is disabled. Your internet connection is experiencing problems or your network administrator has blocked Gmail chat." but if I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.2800. I have no problems.

I read the other post on voice and video chat not working, however the fix that the Google employee posted did not work as I didn't have the plugin to delete.
Right before i encountered the problem, i was uninstalling rarely used programs and deleting files and folders I didn't recognize. I still have quicktime and java, and my camera is working fine. I encounter the problem in chrome and firefox. It will either not install at all (chrome) or it will install but not detect devices (firefox). What do I do?

| I changed my photo a while back from one that worked fine (I could see it, so could people chatting with me) to one that was too large. I removed the too large file right away but ever since then if I click add a picture next to my name in GChat, it takes me to the page, displays the old file that was too big, and when I upload a new photo from either the web or my hard drive, it changes it on the screen before I hit "save changes" only to display NOTHING again when I return to my inbox.
Every time I go back it has the most recent photo I changed to on the add photo page, removing it and starting anew does not help.
Anyone have any tips here? Thank you in advance.

| I lost all my contacts yesterday, so i started going through sent email and saved chats and adding people to chat. Most of them automatically came back, some of them showed up as "invited" and then eventually came back. However, after 50 people, the contacts will not go into chat. I send the invite to chat, it says the invite was sent successfully, but they dont show up in my chat list (which i have set as "show all contacts) not even as "invited," its like they disappear. So instead of just inviting to chat, i added them to contacts, then they show up as a contact but wont show up as a chat contact, they simply have no "dot" or "invited" status. I tried logging in and back out, I waited overnight, I tried the old version and I tried another computer...I dont know what else to try! How can I add back the rest of my contacts?

| Emoticons like "-_-" and "-.-" frequently appear in my chats with others, but now that gmail chat has changed it so that a dash on either side of anything underlines the text in between the dashes, I can't make any of these faces! I know I'm not the only one upset about this new change. Can you do something about this?

I recently downloaded a trial version of Spanning Sync
to see if it'd be worth buying, since I use my Mac Address Book quite a
lot but am not sure I want to switch completely to Mac's Mail since I
love Gmail's interface. After seeing too many duplicates that weren't
properly merging, I decided to try another option in Spanning Sync
which would delete all contacts from Gmail's contact list and import
whatever was in my Mac Address Book. And it worked like a charm.
Expect, that it deleted all my contacts in gchat. I'm a patient person
so I went through my address book and manually re-invited everyone once
again, but no one shows up. I have friends from gchat that are also on
my msn and skype so I was able to talk to them at the same time. Not
only could they not see me online, but apparently my invites were never
sent to them as well.
Any suggestions? I use gchat for the majority of any of my online
'chatting' and it's going to be a problem if I am not able to ever
re-add my friends to communicate with them.

| is it possible to forward a contact like you can in outlook. you can go into the contacts folder in outlook right-click the contact and select forward. it will then send it as a vcard and i need to know if the google mail will allow you to do the same.

Isn't there any POPup window just like in yahoo mail while composing?
In yahoo mail pop up window helps to select & insert contacts at a single shot.
Otherwise provide an option just like in google calendar to add
contacts while creating any event. A window pops up & then you have
to select multiple or single persons from window.

| I upload the same avatar many times because my chat friend says that they don't see my avatar. But no matter how many times I upload, it doesn't show to everyone else but only to me at the chat box and in the Setting tab. They only see the "No Avatar" picture (the blue person). What's going on? How come no one can see my avatar but only I can?

| Ok, when I go to my Chats tab, I see all my chats. At the top right hand corner, it shows how many chats I have. Right now, it that corner says "1-100 of thousands Older>". On the other hand, in my inbox, the top right hand corner says "1-100 of 1295 Older> Oldest>>". Is there any way I can change the right hand corner of my chat box to look like that of my inbox? (e.g. "1-100 of 6381 Older> Oldest>>" instead of "1-100 of thousands Older>") If there is, I would deeply appreciate the answer to how I could do that. Thanks!

| OK, I've downloaded the video & voice. But yr instructions tell me to "install" it. I have looked all over the place -- Mac site, your site, "missing manual", built-in instructions, perhaps more. I guess I'll want it to show up in Applications, but don't think I can put a package of yellow stuff into applications without some modifications. how do I install????? I've got a mac mini 10.5.6.

| I have been trying to connect via GMAIL video chat with another party who is in Europe. When we use SKPYE, we both can see and hear each other (although the connection is terrible). When we try and do the same in GMAIL Video Chat we have perfect audio but I can not see the other party. They can see and hear me just fine (100 times better than in SKYPE). As I tested my VIDEO CHAT with others on my list, it works perfectly which makes me believe there is something wrong on their end. They are using a Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 and I am using a Logitech 9000 web cam.
Any ideas on what the fix may be? Thanks in advance.
