Fans of the movie come to Astoria to visit its iconic filming locations, including the Goonies House on 38th Street, where the characters Mikey and Brandon lived. The city was founded in 1811, making it the oldest city in Oregon and the first permanent settlement in the U.S. west of the Rocky Mountains.
