| Is there any way to contact a real person at google gmail? Help topics were of no help. would like to cancel account if will never be able to access it. When I go to google or gmail.com several hundred characters are added to the URL making it too long to process. When I backspace it too what it should be and hit go it automatically adds the several hundred extra characters. If you have a solution please contact me at jamesgryon@aol.com since gmail does not allow access.

| How can I use gmail to send SMS in Chinese?

| I use Gmail to send and receive SMS often. However, I have not been able to send messages in Chinese characters. When I send a Chinese text to my phone, a blank text appears. When I use my phone to respond in Chinese to Gmail through SMS, Gmail simply does not receive the message. It's not too big of a deal, but for me, it would be nice to have. Do you know how I can fix this problem? Thanks.

| Getting Audio Static in Video Chat

| I'm using Mac OS 10.5.7 on an Intel Mac, using Safari and I'm trying to video chat with my father who is using Internet Explorer on a PC running XP. The static problem occurs every 2-3 min. It corrects itself, then happens again. During in the 3rd-4th audio static episode my video feed hangs up for the person I'm chatting with and they can no longer here me. We must hang up to reset, but the problem persists again. This doesn't make for very productive chats. PLEASE HELP!

| OK so I had some weird spam in my gmail, thought nothing of it and reported it at spam. Than I logged out came back to it later and noticed that all my contacts are gone, has anyone else had this issue? It has happened to a couple other people that I know. Its inconvenient. Thanks for any help.

| I sent a text (SMS) to contact K through gmail chat. K responded via gmail chat, not via SMS. Months later I found out that until K replies via SMS, I am unable to send her chat->SMS messages. However, the number that is displayed on K's phone says "No one uses this number." I am unable to contact them now, until they reply, and they are unable to reply. Highly irritating.
I have already tried the proposed fix of sending an SMS to another known number, and replying to this second number. So I sent a chat to J via SMS, and had J read me the number that the SMS said to reply to. I gave this number to K, who was **STILL** unable to reply. (received the same error message again). J was able to reply, and I can continue to text them.

| I want to sync the contacts I have in Outlook 2003 with the contacts I have in my gmail account. I am looking for something that does it automatically so I don't have to export and import the csv files.
There must be a program out there for windows that does this. Spanning Sync for the Mac does what I am trying to do, but I don't have a mac at work.
Any sugguestions. I would prefer a free program if possible. There must be some plugin or something that does this.

| Video Chat disables sound devices on Dell Studio

| Hi, I've got a Dell Studio 17 with up to date Vista Home Premium. The only sound issues I've had up to this point is this SnTAudio driver keeps installing itself, and it duplicates itself up to 30 times or more. If I uninstall the driver, they go away for awhile, but come back later. But I digress. I tried using the video chat capability today (it's been installed on the machine since March '09). When I start the video chat (either by going to Settings/Chat or by trying to connect to someone) 1. It doesn't register any audio from the microphone in the Verify Settings section, even though I selected the correct device and I can see the device registering audio on its own monitor. (I'm using a device called "Microphone Array", the internal microphone for the laptop.) 2. Once video chat starts, the speakers work ok for Video Chat, I can hear the ringtones and the person I am speaking to, but the speakers stop working for any other programs and I have to reboot to fix the problem. I did see one other person on here in the old forums who also had a Dell Studio 17 and mentioned having the same exact problems. I have not tried to uninstall the video chat app and reinstalling, I don't know if I have the latest version. I will check that later. I also need to see what the speaker drivers say about their state once they're not active anymore. Any ideas on what is going on?

| Hello, I created a contact group and no longer want it. I have no contacts listed in it and I am unable to delete the group I have highlighted. The button delete group does not light up to allow me to delete the group. Any ideas?

| I know this is a known issue for IE7 / Vista and the the work around is switching to "Older version" at the top right corner of your gmail. Here is one of discusions that I found. http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-Help-Chats-and-Contacts-en/browse_thread/thread/af3518c7c54e678e/a2fd0b55cd0e44bb However I just upgrade my IE to version 8/ Vista, and when I switch to "older version" of gmail, I don't see my chat session any more. So look like IE8 and older version gmail does not suppport chat session. Does anyone have the work around for this problem? Thanks in advance

In gmail, I have 4 contact groups and would like to email to all 4 contact groups, or sometimes email out to 2 out of 4 or be selective about which group to email to.
Is there anyway to do that? How about using google groups, is there a way to this in there?

| Gmail voice and video installer -- stuck with two bars remaining

| I am trying to install and download the Gmail voice and video plugin. The installer gets stuck while "downloading Gmail voice and video chat..." (picture of the stuck points here--there are two: www.molehillmarketing.com/Media/googleinstaller.jpg )
I have tried opening the installer from the site (allowing the pop-up) blocking the pop-up and running it from my hard drive, moving it around the hard-drive and initiliazing it from there, various restart combinations with the browser open, closed, opened then closed then installed etc.
This is on a Dell 600m machine with windows XP. This may be totally irrelevant but I am also having an error getting my machine to talk with twitter (photo uploads--see error here: http://bit.ly/12SDIl ). It may be that there is a problem with my runtime env etc--but the twitter thing is a pretty common bug!

| I have need for rapid access to multiple long-ons. I do not care one whit about security. Why won't gmail remember my log-ons anymore? Prior to several weeks ago, gmail remembered ALL my multiple emails and ALL my passwords. Now I myst type in my email and password every time I log-on which is about 20x a day! I am really frustrated by this lack of productivity. I've already tried abling and disabling the "remember me " key. Do I need a new computer (the one I'm using is less than 1 year old?) or a new email company?

| Gigaware USB Stereo Headset 43-122. It is certified for and works with Skype. With Gmail Chat either the microphone or the sound works, but not both, depending on the Microphone settings in Gmail Voice and video chat. If the setting is Default or Stereo Mix, the microphone works, but the sound does not. If the setting is Line In or Microphone, the microphone does not work, but the sound does work. The setting of the Speakers (Default or Speakers) does not have any effect on which of the components works and which does not. Operating system is Vista Business.

| I've been with GMail for more that 5 years, i.e. long before the Google invented the contact-groups: Colleagues, Family, Friends.
Thus I've long ago invented my own groups, which works well. I do not mind Google having introduced the contact-groups Colleagues, Family, Friends
I do mind that Google does not not allow me to delete those 3 groups, hence
What make Google believe that they are a better judge of my life and my needs ?
Yeah, I know - I should have commented long before, but I saw it as such a major bug/blunder, that Google was bound to correct it themselves.

| Someone who has e-mailed me in the past has me on their google talk list. I have changed my setting so that only people I've explicitly accepted can talk to me, but they are still able to communicate. How can I block them without sending a request that they be my friend to add them to my buddy list?

| Anyone out there know a way to configure the new Rogers Online Protection - by Radialpoint firewall to allow for video chatting. I have both Firefox and Google Talk Plug-in are set to allow but still I can use video/voice chat when I disable the entire firewall. Ideas? What has worked before for issues with other firewalls?

| I am making excel files from different neighborhoods for Neighborhood Watch. I imported a file that I did not notice that the first name was first. I deleted all those names (62 of them) and worked on the excel file to put last name first. Then I imported again. It worked beautifully. However, I cannot click on and edit any people in that csv file to add additional information. It will not open A blue and white icon appears with a white arrow when I click on it. Help! I have worked all day on those 62 names. I am doing this for a small community for the Volunteer Fire Department, Neighborhood Watch and our Community Association. PLEASE HELP ME!! I have been using Gmail for about three years, so I am not a novice. However, this is the first time I have imported csv files.
