May 23, 2009 at 10:25 pm Hi Gmail Help Team, I'm trying to download the folders of my gmail account (actually my address is @mymdc.net) but it uses the gmail. Windows live mail asks me for my user name and password, but don't allow me to enter. The W.L.M (windows live mail) error says: "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your user name and password are correct" I'm sure my pass is correct but my user name ends @mymdc.net and not @gmail.com, so I'm not sure what my user name is (if that is the actual problem) Thanks. May 23, 2009 at 10:10 pm I want to use MailStore to retrieve and archive my email from my IMAP gmail account.  It keeps asking for the "host".  I cannot get any combination of google.com; gmail.com or whatever to finish the input required.  All I need is the "host" for my gmail account.  I don't know whether this is the numerical URL or some combination of gmail.com  or google.com or whatever.  MailStore works great with my Comcast IMAP account and retrieves and archives my email from there flawlessly. I have gotten the same email sent to my secondary email address telling me to follow this link [https://www.google.com/accounts/ForgotPasswd], then click on "Change your password by sending an email to your secondary address." But everytime I did that, I get a page saying this: "Reset Password To initiate the password reset process, please follow the instructions sent to your ******@s******.*****************.org email address. If you don't have an alternate email address, or if you no longer have access to that account, please try to reset your password again after 24 hours. At that point, you'll be able to reset your password by answering the security question you provided when you created your account. We use the security question for account recovery only after an account has been idle for 24 hours. We do this to prevent someone else from taking over your account. If you're unable to answer your security question or access your secondary email account, please complete this form." WHICH has the wrong email address. Needless to say, I didn't get any reset password emails and it's been 1 week that I've been trying to get help with this. Thank you for your time. May 23, 2009 at 9:18 pm I am running Vista Home Premium.  I have had a GMail account for about 10 months, which I access using IE7.  Ever since early May (about May 6th as best I can tell) messages that have been in my trash folder for more than 30 days are no longer being automatically deleted.  Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can restore the automatic emptying of older messages from my trash folder? This seems to have opened the door to a great deal of spam. I have never had this problem before, but worryingly there seems to be Google Brnading on most of these e-mails!! Is google endorsing spam that is advertising porn?? I think someone at Google needs to: 1. Remove Register Driver Detective - SafeCart- This site looks to be selling e-mail addresses to spam kings - These types of sites ruin the web and destroy normal use of your e-mail accounts. 2. Look at why Google Checkout branding is at the bottom of the spam meesages?? Again does google really want their branding over pornagraphic spam?? Hopefully someone at Google actually sees this, or someone can help in pointing me in  the right direction  to direct it to google to address!! But orkut still shows my old account, which is misleading and my friends send requests to that deleted account. May 23, 2009 at 4:04 pm I used the themes to try and select a theme I liked.  It turned out that I liked none of them, perfectly. No problem, I thought, I'll set my own colors. But setting my own colors didn't work - as soon as I opened a mesaage the old colors were there.  I verified that this still happened when I was looking at a message that was text/plain so it could not have been that the colors were set by the sender. Many themes are able to set the colors of the message body - at least one sets them to the same color as the text.  I believe that "set your own colors" claims to allow you to set message colors (It is hard to tell EXACTLY what I'm setting colors for).
